Tofuya Resort & Spa Izu

This is a high-end resort hotel that combines traditional Japanese style with modern services. The hotel covers a large area and has villas and Japanese-style rooms. The area is very large and all built along the river. It used to be a high-end place for celebrities in Tokyo, Japan to vacation, gather and relax. There are many buildings and old objects from decades ago. Both the indoor hot springs and public hot springs are good. The outdoor hot spring can deeply feel the hotel's business philosophy and the deep integration of man and nature.

This is a famous inn in Izu. It is a fairly high-class inn, so there was nothing particularly bad about it, but when you spend your precious time traveling, you want to have an impressive and valuable experience. The beauty of the scenery and buildings, the delicious food, the hot springs, the traditions and atmosphere, the fun, the peace and comfort, etc., all of which can only be experienced here. However, this inn is below 70 points in all respects. The food is average. To put it in a good way, it is safe (is that a good thing? lol), and to put it in a bad way, it is like a super high-class kaiseki family restaurant? There is no excitement or "special" originality at all. I think it is quite low compared to other inns in this price class. 40 points? I was happy that the bath was freely available for private use, but the atmosphere was average. To be honest, the quality of the hot water is a bit questionable (I haven't looked into it in detail, so this is just my feeling). 65 points? The building is reasonably clean, but it is quite cluttered and you can't feel any tradition or sense. I feel that the room was not bad. 50 points? LOL I would be happy if it was under 20,000 yen, but since it is a high-class price setting, I have to be honest and give a harsh evaluation. Therefore, I think that it is not suitable for experienced travelers, those who are looking for high-class, or those who are looking for taste. By the way, the nearby restaurant has a modern image and a decent atmosphere, but the food was a bit iffy. On the other hand, the cafe with the foot bath attached to it had a good atmosphere and a special feeling, and was attractive as a cafe. Lastly, about the staff of this inn. Overall, I did not feel bad, but when I checked out, something strange happened. My child played with it, so I lost my room key, and a woman who seemed to be a higher-ranking landlady told me, "If you can't find it? You will have to pay 10,000 yen." It was not a typical joke, but a serious one lol. If you actually lose it, it may be unavoidable, but it seems a bit strange to suddenly say something like that to a customer... Thanks to the other male staff members who desperately searched for it together, we were able to find the key safely in the gap between the bed. There are many wonderful inns in Izu. I don't think I will visit this place again. .

First of all, it can't be helped that it was the time of my stay, but when I moved from my room, I was in a room in the hallway outside, so it was cold. I also enjoyed the old-fashioned retro style of the public bath. I had shabu-shabu for dinner, and the quality of the meat was good. What was disappointing was the behavior of a certain staff member. Do you understand hospitality?
