Hotel Scorpios

I cannot fault anything. The views are just incredible, it is family run and everyone is absolutely wonderful, my apartment was clean, well maintained and with a super comfy bed. Approximately a 30 min steady walk to the middle of Nidri (to the seafront area with most of the restaurants) and if you have a car this is more like 5 minutes. But it was nice being out of the business of Nidri. Scorpios was the perfect place to relax and enjoy this stunning island. I would highly recommend and I really hope to return again, thank you for having me!

The title says it all: mostly good with just a few minor niggles. It is located above the coastal road from Lefkas to Nidri and is about 2K from the latter. It is built on the hillside with multiple levels of accommodation which range from individual "bungalows" to rooms/apartments. The views from the upper rooms and the pool areas are spectacular (as can be seen from the photographs). The restaurant is good and equal to any you'll find in Nidri itself. The menu is comprehensive with Greek favourites as well as international dishes and occasionally there will be specials as well, (the mousakka was excellent!) The pool is large and clean and the many sunbeds and sunshades of superb quality. There is access to and from the hotel from the aforementioned Lefkas/Nidri road but it is via a lot of steep steps with few handrails. The lack of handrails unfortunately perpetuates on the other (many) flights of steps and, if there is one thing we would recommend for an improvement, it is to address this omission. There is no beach worthy of the title: From the Nidri road, there is a small pebbled area opposite the Briki cafe with sunbeds (rented by the cafe) and steps down to the water. The nearest usable beach (fine shingle) is in Nidri itself and can be accessed behind the Nidri Beach Hotel. The nearest sand beach would be in Vasaliki - a 40 euro taxi ride - or an occasional bus ride away. Bus timetables are in reception. On the subject of taxis, 10 euors will get you in to Nidri from the hotel entrance: Thanasis on 6972 463 656 will give you a good service. A taxi to and from the hotel entrance on the upper road will avoid those nasty steps from the main road. The room we had was basic with the usual absent sink plug (as it was throughout Greece 50 years ago I recall!) but the rooms are cleaned daily, towels changed every 2 days. Do not plan much self-catering, we suggest, as the kitchen area is minimal, but the fridge works for cold drinks! The overwhelmimng and most excellent aspect of our stay was the wonderful nature and attitude of the proprietors for whom nothing was too much trouble. They really are exceptional. Up front you will meet Antonios as front of house in the restaurant, his father who does/organises the food and Antinio's aunt who holds everyting together. The service really is superb. They all speak perfect English.

A fabulous little gem away from the main Nidri, lovely 30 min walk away. Never had such amazing views wow!! The family are so welcoming,genuine and helpful. The rooms are basic ( Greek) but very well cleaned , towels changed constantly, cleaners were in every day . The pool was immaculate and the non slip pool area was a bonus . If you’re wanting to visit this lovely place this hotel has it all. The food is outstanding too. Thank you for the warm welcome such a genuine family makes all the difference so inviting.

Wonderful place just out of town so it is peaceful and serene The family are warm and welcoming it is very well run Spotless accommodation basic but perfect The views well what can I say they have the perfect location overlooking the islands which we sailed around a few times during our stay The restaurants in town are okay the hotel food is just as good the prices are similar Very relaxing holiday thank you for your warm welcome
